THE PLACE

The installation took place on 18 and 19 September 2010 in the VIP rooms of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine town hall, as part of the Heritage Days, the town festival and the launch of the Quartiers en Histoire(s) project. Twenty photographs emblematic of the town’s history, chosen in collaboration with the Municipal Archives Service, were added to our album of historic photographs. The installation welcomed 200 people over the weekend.

On both evenings, after a public screening on a large screen of a slide show of the photos taken in situ, two guests shared their analyses of the images with the public: Georges Laforge, a photographer who has kept abreast of events in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine for 50 years, and Pierre-Jacques Derainne, a historian. A slide show of all the images taken in previous editions and in Saint-Ouen was shown outdoors during a banquet.
