Permutation #2 – 23-26 October 2010 / Proposition from Elsa Gaudefroy

Seven projects were launched in October 2010 by four project leaders, bringing together a total of eight people:

  • Elsa Gaudefroy worked on the texts of Grisélidis Réal, combining play, video and sound. She invited a video artist, an actress and an actress/sound designer.
  • Aliénor de Mezamat explored scenographic and spoken word distribution options for Oscar Wilde’s Salomé.
  • Xavier Guerlin invited singer Stéphanie Boré. They began their research on Planning, a project about the temporal difficulty of coming together to create a show.
  • Clyde Chabot made progress on her project in progress: Le temps des garçons. She also opened up three avenues of work: a reading by herself of her text Sicilia (working title), a voice production by 5 people (2 actors, 2 actresses, 1 singer) of Manque by Sarah Kane, and an opportunity for those present to explore fragments of her adaptation of Les Milles noms de la Mère divine in song.
Each project leader worked each day for a total of 6 hours.

Writings by the participants at the end of Permutations 2:

The artistic experience at St Erme seemed to me to be like sharing in love; where everyone had to defend something of the sensitive laid bare in eloquence, moving from the intimate to the political, from the political to the intimate, kneading in its interstices, the advent of a probable community.
