THE PLACE

The installation was programmed as part of the Relectures festival on 17 and 18 April 2010. It welcomed 350 visitors. At the end of the opening weekend, there was a public screening on a large screen of the slideshow of images produced over the weekend and during previous editions.

Anne Dubos, an ethnologist specialising in Kerala (India), freely deciphered a selection of images taken in the state, shedding light on the sociological, political and cultural aspects of Kerala society. Clyde Chabot teamed up with her to talk about his own experience in India, based on some of the images. Olivier Marboeuf, director of Espace Khiasma and an art historian, placed the project in the context of the history of photography in Germany and France. Finally, the audience was given the chance to comment on the experience.
